Getting Started

How do I know if I am a good fit for coaching?+

The free 20-minute discovery call exists for exactly this question. It is a conversation, not a sales pitch. You describe what is going on; I give you an honest assessment of whether coaching is the right next step — or whether you would be better served by therapy, medical care, or another resource. Plenty of discovery calls end in a referral, and that is a good outcome, not a failed one.

How long does coaching usually last?+

Most clients begin with a 3-month package of six to ten sessions. Real behavior change rarely happens in a single conversation — it takes eight to twelve weeks of consistent work to build habits that hold. Many clients then continue with monthly follow-up sessions or join a group cohort.

What happens on the first call?+

Twenty minutes on Zoom. You talk, I listen and ask questions, and at the end I tell you plainly what I would recommend — a package, a cohort, or a different kind of provider entirely. Then you go think about it. No one decides on the call.

Coaching vs. Therapy

How is health coaching different from therapy?+

Therapy treats mental illness, processes past trauma, and addresses clinical conditions — work that requires a licensed counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist. Health coaching is forward-focused: building the daily habits, mindsets, and behaviors that support a fuller life. They are complementary, not competing. Many people benefit from both at the same time, and I refer to therapists regularly.

Is this a medical or clinical practice?+

No. Align Collective is a health and wellness coaching practice. My background as a Registered Nurse informs my depth of understanding, but this business does not provide medical care, diagnose conditions, or prescribe treatment. Keep your relationships with your physician and any licensed mental health providers — coaching works alongside them, not instead of them.

What if I am already seeing a therapist?+

Great — keep seeing them. Coaching and therapy do different jobs, and they pair well: therapy for the clinical work, coaching for the daily habits and follow-through. With your permission, I am glad to stay in my lane and coordinate around whatever your therapist is working on with you.

Sessions & Scheduling

Are sessions in person or online?+

All sessions are virtual via Zoom, which means no commute, no waiting room, and the ability to work with clients anywhere in Texas — not just Longview. Phone sessions are available if you would rather not be on video.

What times are available?+

Evenings — generally 6 to 9 p.m. Central — plus weekend windows. The schedule is built around people who work.

What is your cancellation policy?+

Cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice and we will simply find another time. Sessions canceled with less notice may be forfeited. The full policy is in the client agreement you sign at onboarding.

Pricing & Payment

Do you take insurance?+

Health coaching is not currently billable through most insurance carriers, so the practice operates on a private-pay basis — which also means no diagnosis on your record and no insurance company in the room. Some clients can use HSA or FSA funds; check with your plan administrator.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds?+

Often, yes, with proper documentation — but eligibility depends on your specific plan. Ask your HSA/FSA administrator, and I will provide any documentation they need.

Do prices change?+

Prices are reviewed as credentials and experience grow. If a package price changes, clients already in an engagement keep the price they started at through the end of that engagement.

Faith & Approach

Do I have to be religious to work with you?+

Not at all. Faith is part of my life and shapes how I see whole-person health, but your coaching is led by you. Faith integration is offered if you want it and quietly set aside if you do not. This practice is built to welcome everyone.

What does whole-person actually mean?+

It means your body, your mind, and your spirit are not three separate problems to be handled by three separate professionals who never talk to each other. Sleep affects mood. Stress affects weight. Purpose affects energy. We work with the whole system, because that is how you actually live.

Scope & Credentials

Are you board-certified?+

I am certified by the Health Coach Institute and currently completing the requirements for National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching certification — the gold standard in the coaching field. I am also a Registered Nurse, though nursing is not practiced within this coaching business.

Can coaching help with weight loss and GLP-1 medications?+

Yes. Your medication comes from your prescribing provider; I provide the behavioral support alongside it — the habits, structure, and accountability that make the results last.

What happens if I am in crisis?+

Coaching is not crisis care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7, or 911 in an emergency. If a crisis emerges during our work together, I will connect you directly with appropriate licensed care — that protocol is part of every client agreement.
